The Golf and Gossip Shop
The Golf and Gossip Shop, or simply The GAG as it’s affectionately known, is a North East golfing institution in its own right. A meeting place for golfers and the heartbeat of Newcastle United Golf Club, there’s always a good chat, cup of Rijo Coffee, and a golfing debate to be had here.
Regular visitors include DP World Tour caddies; former European, Challenge and EuroPro tour players; Northumberland county champions; golf writers; and even the odd national or European champion. Members, frequent visitors, those playing the course for the first time, and even those passing by are always welcome in The GAG.
As well as being home to a good conversation, golfers are well looked after in The GAG, with Liam McNulty [not a professional golfer, though he did have a few good knocks round The Moor in his day] stocking clothing, shoes, bags, trolleys, balls and accessories from leading brands including TaylorMade, Srixon, Under Armour, Oscar Jacobson, PowaKaddy, BIG MAX, Skechers, and Island Green.
There’s also plenty of drinks and snacks to keep you hydrated and energised out on the golf course – be sure to pop in on your way to the 10th tee to restock.
