Jen Anderson becomes first female club captain in our 131-year history

Jen Anderson has become the first female club captain in Newcastle United Golf Club’s 131-year history.

Jen said: “I’m incredibly proud to captain the club I’ve been a member of for 40 years and I can’t thank the past captains enough for voting for me. I’ve done a lot in my time here – serving as lady captain three times, chairing the committee, and volunteering on the golf course – but to be the first female club captain is a tremendous honour. The support from the whole club has been amazing and I’m looking forward to a very exciting year for our club teams. I owe so much to the people who have supported me already, particularly my husband Keith. I’ve also has a lot of support from my vice captain John Simmons and our immediate past captain Paul Ainsley. I’m really excited to the get the season underway.”
